Back to School Grocery Shopping

You have been seeing all these deals lately at Staples and Office Depot about back to school supplies but what about back to school groceries ( for lunches )......Well Meijer has a GREAT sale this week they have buy 8 items get $8 off at check out my major stock up was Capri Sun at $0.77 each ( after you buy 8) another GREAT deal is lunchables at $0.99 each ( after you buy 8) Also if you are a mperks member they have an ecoupon for $2 off $2 or more purchase! I bought 8 capri suns and 4 lunchables and 4 oscar myer deli ham all for $14!!!

Kroger Coupon Policy Dayton Area

I ran to the Kroger grocery store in the Dayton area today and when I was checking out they had a sign posted about using coupons.  I didn't have a lot of items to buy so they cashier was really fast in getting me checked out and more people were behind me so I couldn't read the whole thing but it seems like they are restricting the amount of coupons you can use because it said they only stock the shelves with so much and all of that blah blah blah so yet again a cut to my coupons! GRRRRR Has anyone else seen these signs?

Dayton Daily Newspaper

I moved to the Dayton area about a year ago and ever since I have been so frustrated with the Dayton Daily Newspaper because they don't put all the ads and coupon inserts in the newspapers that you buy at the store.  So this sunday I purchased the Dayton Daily and sure enough I only received 3 inserts instead of 4 and the one Redplum insert had a hole in the insert and some of the coupons were no good because the barcode was ripped!! So I finally emailed the Dayton Daily and this is the response that I received:

Thank you for your email.  We cannot guarantee the ads and coupons in store-bought papers.  We can only guarantee them in home delivery papers.  For a home delivery, please call.

Customer Care Center

So then my reply was:

How can I get multiple newspapers then?  An is this something that only Dayton Daily Newspapers do to get people to have home delivery, because when I lived inMichigan and got the Detroit Free press from the store all the coupons and ads were in them.

Dayton News reply: 

Thanks for your email.  You would have to subscribe to our paper as stated previously for the guarantee of getting the ads and coupons.  Please call 

I can't believe this is their way of getting people to have home delivery service because if anything it makes me not want home delivery service so if anyone lives in the dayton area an knows of a better newspaper that has coupon inserts please let me know because it is really ruining my couponing!

Kellogg's and Kroger Cereal Deal

I made a second trip to Kroger today to pick up some more Kellogg's Rice Krispies that are on sale Buy One Get One Free.  On some of the boxes of cereal they have Cars 2 Movies Codes that can be reedemed for Movie Tickets, $5 gas card, and more.  There is also a printable coupon HERE for $1/2 Rice Krispies Cereal so this makes a great deal!!

So upset at the TLC Extreme Couponing Show

I took a break from the blog for awhile but I have been still couponing and find it so hard to coupon thanks to the Extreme Couponing show that aired on TLC.  Many stores in my area have been changing their coupon policies and I believe its because of the show.  Here are some of the changes that I have found : 

1. Kroger no longer allows Manufacturer and E coupons to be combined.
2. My local Kroger also won't push the coupons through if they beep they just won't take it,  
3. Also at Kroger mega sales they take the $0.50 off each product instead of taking $5.00 off at the end this is so that you can't get overage
4. Target they limit the amount of coupons that you can use in one transaction and the limit in my area is 4 coupons!

 I am sure there are some more changes but these are the stores and things that I find inconvenient.

To prove my theory about how couponing has changed when I was at Target today the lady in front of me had some coupons and the man cashier ( who those are usually the ones to go to ) he got out a pocket magnifying glass and studied the coupons like the lady was trying to steal something HOW CRAZY!!!!!!!  So I just would like to thank the show for making us normal couponers pay the price 

Target Summer Clearance

I went shopping at my local Target and found that they have their summer items on clearance for 50% off.  I found my kids a slip n slide for $2.49 and water bottles ( that they use for school) for $2.49.  They also had some summer toys for 75%!  I hope you find some good deals.

Sample Showcase

Free Stuff

Many people in my family ask me how I am able to get all this free stuff delivered to my mailbox. So I thought I would share some of the websites and companies that offer free samples and products.

 The following websites are all FREE to join

Kraft Foods First Taste:  This is a great website it allows you to become one of the first to taste and review new kraft foods.  They mail you free coupons for the product and once you try then you take a short survey about the product.  It's that simple! An the products are always great!

SheSpeaks:  Is a website/company that you review products and take a short survey about the product.  They also send coupons and even sometimes the product itself.


House Party:  This website is AMAZING!  You host parties that is sponsored by a certain product.  Like recently I hosted a Digornio Pizza Party at my home. They sent me all the things I needed like coupons for the free Digornio pizza, plates, napkins, pizza cutter, oven mitt, and much more.

Kroger Digital Coupon Policy Change

I went to my local Kroger here in Ohio and I was shocked to hear" you can't use this coupon because a coupon was already applied to that item" ???? The casher informed me that the digital coupon policy has changed!  You can only use one coupon be it either digital or paper coupon! So no more really good deals with using both :(

Fresh New Look

I took a break from blogging for awhile.  I had some problems with the website and then I moved but everything is settled and I am making a fresh new start.  Just because I haven't been blogging doesn't mean I have been out of the couponing world.  I have been keeping up with the deals but I have noticed that a lot of the deals I see aren't always posted so I want to share those with all of you.  

In the upcoming weeks I will have the weekly deals of Kroger and Meijer grocery stores an other deals that I see around the Dayton, OH area.
